Registered Respiratory Therapist

The RRT assumes responsibility and accountability in providing cardiac and/or respiratory care for a group of patients. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care in each unit. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Performs other duties as assigned. High school graduate or equivalent. Must be registered or Certified through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
